Storage Tips

• Make a list of all the items you need to store and keep in a safe place for future reference.



• Store frequently accessed items at the front of the unit.



• Estimate the replacement value of each item on the list, as this could be useful when insuring your goods.



• Use good quality packaging materials, available from your Space Maker Self Storage Centre.



• Fill all boxes to capacity to provide a sturdy base for stacking.



• Items of clothing can be hung in the room using clothes racks or wardrobe boxes available to purchase at your Space Maker Self Storage centre.



• Always pack heavier items into smaller boxes.



• Place lighter items on top of the heavier items.



• Cover mattresses and sofas with the plastic covers available to purchase at your Space Maker Self Storage centre.



• Wrap delicate items in bubble wrap or other protective packaging also available from your Space Maker Self Storage centre.



• Bin liners are not recommended for storing items of clothing as moisture in the fabric gets trapped when the bags are sealed.
  
  
• Defrost and dry fridge/freezers before storing and keep door slightly ajar to prevent condensation.
